Resulting from activities of researchers from the Centre of Biological Engineering, Simbiente was founded in 2004 as a spin-off company of University of Minho. Simbiente is located in Avepark – Park of Science and Technology (Guimarães, Portugal) and shares the staff, projects and experience with Simbiente Azores (located in Ponta Delgada, Azores) and Simbiente Chile (located in Valparaíso, Chile), in a total of 15 multidisciplinary professionals, including engineers (environmental, geological, biological), biologists, microbiologists, biochemical, geographers and geologists.
